Cub Bike Camp/Easter Sleepover

The Bike camp (warning – 1st time young campers were used for this Event ) began at Clapperstile Gate in Bushy park with a fury of peddling against the elements to HQ via Dukes head passage.    These “few brave men” then prepared HQ for the arrival of many with their kit for an overnight camp.   The Explorers room took on a new look resembling “lost luggage” at the local campsite!

“Mystery Chef” 👩‍🍳 (Ben ❤️) arrived to help “keep the wolf from the door” for 13 “I’m starving” Cubs with mouth watering helpings of pasta and pizza .

Indoor football ⚽️ marathon commenced within seconds of the last mouthful and lasted until 9:30am  in the morning.    There were a few hours of “shut eye” where cubs REMs went into “hyperdrive speeds” of football stardom for most but some wriggled and jiggled with no hope of getting any “beauty sleep’ on the hard hall floor.

Scoffing a hot dog 🌭 for breakfast Cubs were advised that they were visiting not one church but three churches and needed to make haste adorning waterproof jackets and enter into the Realms of “next door” Hampton Methodist to join the Good Friday Walk of Witness.

The sun 🌞 broke through the dismal weather conditions at an appropriate and glorious moment as they hopped skipped and jumped oblivious to all around chatting and laughing.   Round the corner to St Theodore then onwards to St Mary’s Hampton.  “Enduring” a very brief (beautiful) service suddenly an excited uncontrollably glee broke out amidst the “young redeemers”    Hot Cross Buns were now being served at the back of the church!    After scoffing an embarrassing 🙈 amount they were frog marched back to HQ just in time to put together a “glorious” egg filled Easter basket for “mums” before Pick up time.

Conclusion – two red eyed leaders and 13 confident Cubs.
