21 Scouts had a sleepover at the HQ after the scout meeting and then spent the following day exploring London – playing Monopoly for real – lots of photos will soon be on Flickr. Three of the groups played Monopoly “in 3D” taking turns to roll the dice and navigate their teams to the place they landed on – taking in the sights as they went – all the teams managed to visit M&M world as well as enjoying a MacDonalds lunch.
The fourth team of older scouts took the chance to prepare for being explorer scouts and managed to visit all the streets and stations (except the Brown) – the screen shot below shows how far we walked doing that!
The other screen shots show how far two of the other groups walked – no wonder everyone was tired at the end….
What a great display yesterday at the Hampton Remembrance Parade – see below for the group photo – if there is anyone that got a good photo, with everyone in it from the centre of the room – please email it to Nigel – so we can get a copy on the photo gallery at the HQ.
Here is one of the clearest received so far – all others are on Flickr.
3rd Hampton Scout Group will be participating in the Remembrance Day parade and service on Sunday, 13th November, in Hampton.
All our members are expected to take part in this important event. Please refer to the recent emails from your section leader for full details
Details also available in the News section of this website.
After the parade we will also be taking a group photo (like last year) and if there are any parents with “photographic tendencies” we would love someone to take some photos with a quality camera!! Please let your section leader know if you can help.
Well done to both of our teams – 1st and 7th out of 22 teams – especially good result as none of our scouts had ever taken part before. Great to see that they know how to use a map and compass – who needs satnav!!
The rain held off and the Jumble managed to, yet again, raise over £3,000 towards group funds.
Many thanks to all those that helped on the day, in the build up and clearing away.
The next Jumble is on March 25th 2017 – and we really need much more help from the parents as we were very stretched this year sorting jumble in the build up, selling goods and clearing away on the day. It would be great if every family could help for even just a few hours either on the day or in the build up – it takes a huge amount of time to sort out the jumble that comes in…..
Well done to the 13 scouts that made up our teams in yesterday’s event. Both teams successfully navigated their way around the whole course and one of them even managed to continue on and earn some endurance points!
The results are being compiled and double checked at the moment and I hope to be able to announce where we came in the competition within the next week or so.
Well done to all those that camped at the Outdoor Skills Camp this weekend.
A weekend of basic scout skills, cooking for themselves on open wood fires, washing up, pitching and striking tents, teamwork and some fun and games – a few photos are now on Flickr.
